In 2005 the owners of Prestick Airport, Infratil, commissioned Red Sky at Night to create and produce an event programme for the re-launch of the airport following a £20M upgrade. A core creative theme developed by Red Sky at Night was Prestwick Airport’s fame as the only part of the UK that Elvis Presley ever stood on; on 3rd March 1960 as the ‘King’ returned to the US after his military service in Germany. Red Sky at Night transformed the vast check-in atrium into a concert stage, with a leading Elvis tribute act and rock n roll dance troupe to entertain Infratil’s staff and their local and global VIP guests. Red Sky at Night also created a media stunt with for Infratil, with Elvis embarking a private jet at Prestwick.
